121) A really very nice as found German army M42 steel helmet with single decal. The shell is excellent and untouched/as found. It retains much original wartime factory paintwork along with minor surface rust spots. a wipe over with an oily rag will clean this up nicely. all original liner rivets are in place and excellent. the decal is well work and tatty but still in place. The inside paintwork is again all original and good. it again shows minor surface rust. The dome shows a little more rust but still surface. The original liner is in place and good, it is dirty and darkened with age but woo% original. it has a name written to the rear. the liner band is good but dirty and some of the alloy split pins show corrosion but all is good and firm. The liner band looks to be 1943 dated but very hard to see. The original chinstrap is in place, it is again tatty and dirty but good and strong. the tip is maker marked and dated but not clear to read due to age and wear. The rear of the shell is marked “NS 66” over the production number. so a decent size. A good 100% genuine as found M-42 helmet.
