15) A very nice late Victorian Boer war era British officers Sam Brown. The Sam Brown is in excellent order with the usual surface cracking in places to one end but nothing deep and only to the adjustment end, all leather is soft and supple, it has all white fittings which usually points to it being to Volunteers. The shoulder strap came with this but has brass fittings and is a slightly different shade. It is very nicely maker marked and dated 1901, the date is much clearer than appears in the photos. It will fit up to a 36-inch waist. This patter is designed to have either a single or double shoulder strap fitted.
