81) A good original wartime steel helmet. A standard Tommy helmet produced in early khaki paintwork and then over-painted in black for use on the home front. This one has an A to the front for Ambulance man. the outside is good with minor wear and age related shrinkage spots and minor surface rust. The inside is nice with original khaki green finish. the shell is dated 1939 and excellent. the original chinstrap is in place and named named V.Slatford. The liner is in great condition. it is not dated that we can see but is an early pattern so 100% pre 1940. It is maker marked and a size 7.
