32) An original wartime ARP gas warning rattle. Mostly in good order and works well but looks a little out of shape/lopsided from manufacture. This doesn’t affect its use at all. it is nicely maker marked and dated 1939. The outside has been painted on one side, presumably for use as a football rattle. It shows minor dead woodworm holes. Rattles were to used to warn of gas and bells to give the all clear.
