Product Description

44 An interesting large photograph of a brass band playing on the deck of a ship, the rear of the photograph reads the following “H.M.A.S. “Melbourne”, The Brass Band Supplies a Little Music During Jacks B???? House on Board, Special Photo Taken Today”. A quick search on goggle shows that “Jack House” was a well-known footballer from this time. The photograph is in good order with a few minor tears to the very edge, HMAS Melbourne was in operation with the RAN between 1912-1929. The following link shows the ship and a good shot on deck clearly showing that this is the same ship with the gun behind the lifeboat just visible in this photograph
