62) A very interesting book with writing and his comical drawings showing his journey through the war from his arrival in France right through to the end where he is blown up by a shell and sent back to England. The final words are “A fragment from France” it seems this famous saying came from him having shrapnel removed? Or him being the fragment? The covers are good. The spine is tatty with wear and some tears. The contents is in good order. it is dated December 1916. The original owner was from Northern Ireland, his details are marked several times inside “H? Robertson, 1 Valenlia Place, Newcastle, Belfast”.
