64) An interesting 100% original design for a new badge to the “84th Group Headquarters Royal Air Force”. All badge designed had to be approved by the reigning monarch of the time before becoming official. This is the original badge design It has the signature of GRVI to the top left and the bottom is marked marked “Chester Herald & Inspector of Royal Air Force Badges” to the right and “College of Arms July, 1946” to the right. Interestingly this squadron was formed in July 1943, The new badge was not in use until late 1946 and they were disbanded in 1947 so this badge was only around for a year or so. It is in good order and in its original frame. The glass is dirty and dusty and needs a clean. The badge is good and clear as is all writing and details. The edges of the paper do show some minor water staining but nothing serious. The rear has its original backing. The frame is 8 X 6 1/4 inches
