B28) Nice early post war HLI officers mess dress jacket, this one is not named or dated but we have the same mans service dress jacket from 1946 which is marked “Cadet R.Ross D.92083”. the jacket is in fair condition, it has quite a bit of surface moth trailing to the nap of the material, the collar and edging down the center shows wear holes from use most of which does not show when worn. The epaulettes are lovely and ornate and may well be much earlier, they have rank to them of a Lieutenant and have a large bullion thistle to each, the buttons are brass kings crown and unscrew. All staybright buttons are excellent and Kings Crown so early post war and of around 1946 manufacture. The right arm has a nice pair of Parachute jump wings to it. a nice jacket with some wear and moth damage but some great buttons and insignia. Measurements are shoulder to shoulder 15 inches, shoulder to cuff 24 inches, armpit to armpit 17 inches, total length collar to hem 21 inches. All moth has been treated and is long since gone.
