A very nice original WW1 British wooden trench periscope No9. The woodwork is in excellent order with all original paintwork, there is one small slither of wood missing from one front edge (see photos) but this is not bad and does not affect its strength etc, a but of matching green paint and it would not show. It has a nice bix WD arrow to one side, the hinge allowing it to fold works well as does the locking catch to keep it in the up position. One small nail is missing which holds the edge of the metal trim, this does not affect the item or its use (see photos) It works well and shows a good image, it has its original mirrors which are just dirty and dusty with age and would clean up nicely. The sliding metal plate to the front mirror has not been moved for years and is a little jammed which could easily be sorted out. A nice original WW1 item for trench use.
