A very nice early British military tubular case, we are not totally sure what this is for as it is quite small but could be some kind of scope. The main body of the tube is of some kind of fibre, it is mostly good but for a crack to the base but all well held together, the very bottom is metal. The lid is of high quality leather with a very nice leather quick release strap to the front. There are minor stampings but hard to make out and no sign of any makers marks or dates. Outside measurements are 10 ¼ inches in length X 1 1/8 inches across.
