A pretty nice set of Galilean binoculars complete with original correct issue case with matching markings, these are airborne issue binoculars and are fairly small and compact, the binoculars are in excellent condition, the optics are pretty good and clear with no damage, the focuses work nicely as they should, The centre focus Bakelite knob is good, the bakelite eye cups are excellent with no damage which is pretty unusual as these are vunerable and tend to be broken. The grips are excellent with very minor wear. The case is the correct case for the binoculars and has never been issued so is still wrapped in the remnants of its original outer paper packaging over preserving grease as issued, it has matching markings to the binos VF 2506 (see photos) the leather is soft and supple. this grease can be cleaned by being gently scraped off and cleaned with white spirit or similar to remove the residue, it has its carry strap wrapped around it. The period photos show General Browning the so-called “Father of the airborne forces” wearing an identical pair.along with a period written article on them. it would be hard to find a better pair.
